Capping his 19th season as LACO music director, Jeffrey Kahane conducts Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 and a world premiere by LACO 2016 Sound Investment composer, Matthew Aucoin. Only 24, Aucoin is already ‘one of the most sought-after voices in classical music,’ with commissions from the Met and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Praised for a ‘monstrously brilliant technique and his questing, deep-thinking approach,’ Marc-André Hamelin brings his original blend of musicianship to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17.
